A Turf War between rival hedgehogs caught on film. We started putting out hedgehog food in late fall/early winter and put a camera to watch them soon after. At first we put it in their feeding hutch (Built To stop cats from getting at the food). After a while we came to the conclusion that there might be two or more different hedgehogs feeding in our yard, so we moved the camera somewhere where we could get a better view, but we never suspect, not in a million years, that we'd film what we did here. Watch closely. The first hedgehog appeared just after 8pm (you can recognize it by the white patch on it's flank), it snuffled around for a bit and then spent about 10-15 minutes eating before...

We thought the hedgehogs had gone back to their nest. But in fact they've made their nest under the hedge not far from the back door. Have spotted 5 young but difficult to picture them all at the same time. They have their fill of the catfood and then file off back to the nest one-by-one.
